BEVERLEY JOAN HUMPHREYS
(nee PARTRICK)

August 5, 1934 – January 15, 2022

Mom passed away peacefully at Betel Care Home in Selkirk, MB at the age of 87.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Jim and her sister Joyce. She leaves her son Bruce (Andrea) and grandsons, Scott (Sara) and Ian (Taryne); daughter Lori (Bert) and granddaughter Nicole (Scott); as well as many extended family members.
Growing up on Harbison Avenue in Elmwood, Mom met her lifelong friend Pat Webster. Together they attended Glenelm School and Lord Selkirk High School. They were also active members of King Memorial United Church. Mom often spoke fondly of her younger years, spending summers in Gimli, lively gatherings with family and travelling to Calgary by train for the Stampede.
Mom and Dad met on the beach in Gimli and went on to build their own cottage there. Many summers were enjoyed with family and friends, with a grand finale large Thanksgiving dinner every season, which Mom loved to host. After their marriage in 1959, Mom and Dad settled in North Kildonan where they raised their children. In 1980, Mom started work at Sears in the newly opened Kildonan Place Mall where she was one of the first employees. She enjoyed her time there and made many close friends, reluctantly retiring after 30 years.
In recent years, Mom's health declined due to Alzheimer's. For the past two years, she received excellent care from the staff at Betel Care Home. The family wish to express our thanks and appreciation for the care and compassion Mom experienced while living there.
As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to Covid restrictions a service will not be held at this time. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba in Mom's memory
