JEANNE MARIE ANNE CREAMER
(DEVISSCHER)

February 18, 1934 – January 16, 2022

Mom passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 16, 2022, at the River East Personal Care Home.
Mom will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, George; daughters, Cindy (Gerry), Pam (Ed); grandchildren, Michael (Marlene), Dale (Amber), Corinne (Ken), Ken (Laura) and Derek (Lesley); and her great-grandchildren; Chloe, Adelaide, Adam, Harrison, Leo, and Brody. Also remembered by her sisters, Dolly, Mary (Keith); sister-in-law Lois; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom will now be reunited with her parents, Paul and Marcella; brother, Paul; and brother-in-law, Ernie, in Heaven.
Mom was born and raised in East Kildonan on the Oak Dairy farm. The family business shifted to the Oakview Soda Bar, where she worked in her early years. During that time, she met dad and they would spend the next 67 years together. When we were young, Mom would only take part time jobs so that her summers could be spent with us. She retired from the Government of Manitoba Parks Branch.
Mom loved children and cherished the arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom also loved nature. Many happy hours were spent camping; exploring the woods and gardening. Mom and Dad enjoyed their trips as well. Dad would proudly tell people how Mom went through 11 years of school never missing a day or being late. Mom would always get embarrassed, yet this was reflective of Mom – hardworking and dependable. Mom was an active member of St. Saviours Anglican Church and volunteered in our various activities. Regular backyard get togethers on Beach Avenue were always filled with laughter. When they moved to Hillview in Bird's Hill, Mom loved expanding her gardens.
Mom lived her life with gentleness, grace, kindness, empathy, and respect towards others. She was a loving friend and mentor to all of us. Beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. Her positive outlook and faith was evident in all she did. Mom's favourite saying was "LIFE IS GOOD." and WE ARE SO BLESSED." She had a good sense of humour and a twinkle in her eye. She genuinely cared for others and would always tell us "YOU TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF". She was brave and courageous in facing the challenges of heart failure, cancer, stroke and dementia.
She has touched and blessed the lives of so many during her life. We are grateful to have travelled life's journey with her. Thank you Mom for effortlessly making us feel loved and valued. You leave a legacy of true strength, courage and never-ending love. This legacy will be carried on by your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to the staff at River East Personal Care home for their exceptional care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Jeanne's name to Rossbrook House, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a charity of your choosing.
Due to COVID, we will honour and celebrate Mom's – Jeanne's life at a future safe gathering with family and friends.

Mom we know you are watching over us. Rest in peace.
We will hold you in our hearts always.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Auntie Jeanne always represented kindness, safety, and warmth to me. We looked forward to going to see her and Uncle George at the Beach Ave. house because we would be looked after and treated with love.....and an added bonus was investigating all the "treasures" they kept in the rec-room drawers downstairs- like marionettes from Mexico or vintage Barbies. She had a marvelous sense of humour and her eyes twinkled when she laughed. Love you always, L. xoxo - Posted by: L (Niece) on: Feb 14, 2022

  • Jeannie and I met at Prince Edward School and remained good friends for a number of years. I introduced Jeannie to George on a blind date, and that’s how their life together began.. We lost touch over the years, but reunited when our school celebrated one hundred years. We had several lunches together after that. Jeanne was a loyal friend all through school we had laughs and adventures together. My sincere condolences to George and family. I know she will leave you all with love and many great memories. Sincerely Ruth. - Posted by: Ruth Turnbull (Dear friend) on: Jan 23, 2022

  • Our most sincere sympathy to Jeanne's Family. We both had the pleasure and privilege of working with Jeanne at Manitoba Parks. She was a hard working colleague and truly cared about her co-workers. You have so eloquently and honestly described Jeanne. She was all of the things you said and more. Please cherish and treasure your memories. Rod & Marg MacCharles - Posted by: Rod MacCharles and Marg MacCharles (nee Kunz) (Co-workers) on: Jan 23, 2022

  • I was heartbroken when I saw in the notices that Jeanne had passed. I had the pleasure of being a co-worker when we both worked at Parks Branch. We took our breaks together from the day I started till the day Jeanne retired (a 10-year period). She was so proud of her family; had a great sense of humor; loved life. Jeanne felt like an aunt to me. What a lovely lady. She made the world a better place. Heaven has gained a wonderful angel. My deepest condolences to her family. - Posted by: Darlene Walsh (Co-worder) on: Jan 23, 2022
