It is with great heartbreak and relief that we announce the passing of everyone's beloved Kenny. In true North End fashion, he fought a good fight and impressed us all.
A Celebration of Life and love will be planned for later this spring - before cottage season starts, and after the sun is hot and the greens are groomed.
In lieu of flowers, Kenny would love for you to carry out an unexpected act of kindness.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to Ken’s family. Ken is my favourite salesman who always come in once a week to my former restaurant at Morden. I cherish the coffee time we have together over orders and products search. Always appreciate the effort he put in to help me out on multiple occasions. Missed his friendly smile. • I became the Recreation Coordinator at Northwood C.C. in 1961. Northwood was a 2nd. home for the kids in the neighborhood and Ken was one of those kid who played different sports all year long and hung out. Who knew this friendly, happy go lucky kid would grow up to be a friendly, happy go lucky adult. I lost touch with the kids after leaving Northwood but ran into Ken and was invited to the Mini Tour about 50 yrs. later and was back in touch with those 10 yr. old's who were now in their 60's. Played golf with them into their 70's. How time flies. What Ken did with the 3 day Mini-Tour all those years is a testament to his caring personality. He planned, booked the Courses and Hotels, set the rules, coordinated the games, and mc'd the Awards Night----amazing. Those were great times that only Kenny could pull off. When you approached Ken you were greeted with a smile, a hug, and a joke. His passing was much to early and he will be missed. Our sympathy to Diane and the Johnson Family, John and Marge Mirus. - Posted by: John and Marge Mirus (Friends) on: Jan 28, 2022

  • We are sad to hear of Ken's passing. We will always remember the fun times at Grand Beach we had with both Ken and Diane...the Halloween parties were the best! Our favorite was when Ken dressed up as Robert Goulet and imitated him all night and he even dyed his hair black and it took months for it to grow out. We have great memories of laughs and fun. Ken had a great sense of humour and he was one of kind! May his spirit always be there for you Diane...Hugs to you and your family. - Posted by: Rene and Susan Vallee (friends) on: Jan 28, 2022

  • My heartfelt condolences go out to Ken’s Wife & Children whom I have never met. Ken was a good chum in our teen years in the Sandy Hook area, I met Ken, through Dora Anderson whom I believe is a cousin to Ken, at a teen party at his folks cottage. The last time I saw Ken about 15 yrs ago when he dropped into my office in Gimli. We did some catching up, which conjured up a lot of fond memories of great parties, old friends in common and some hilarious situations we got into together. In those moments, talking over those memories, I came to realize he had not changed from the great personality he exhibited as a teen, a wonderful guy who will be sorely missed by all who knew him then and now! May God rest his soul. - Posted by: Laurence ( Laurie ) Russin (A friend from a distant past, mid 60’s to early 70’s) on: Jan 24, 2022
