Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I met Herb and Shirley as a result of his being our auditor for The Prairie Garden. His fees were so reasonable and his work was always timely. I always looked forward to visiting him to drop off the files and then to return to retrieve them and to drop off the cheque. This year he was so proud of the plants growing in their home and Shirley was there to share her green thumb. I never felt anything but joy when I left as he was professional but always kind and generous of spirit. I am glad to have met him, and Shirley as well, and I will miss our visits. I am saddened that he has departed this life and appreciated the video of his service last week. Thank you Herb, for making a task I always dreaded so pleasant... - Posted by: Monique Graboski (Friend ) on: Jan 31, 2022

  • Dear Shirley and family, Karen and I are deeply saddened to hear of Herbert's passing. He was a true Christian in every sense of the word. He was always kind and friendly to every one and went out of his way to talk to others. He was a loving father who cared deeply about his Christian family, especially his love for his church and strong belief in his Lord and Savior. I can still see Herbert helping his wife turn pages while she played the pipe organ. He had a great love for music and was so proud of Shirley who dedicated her life as organist of St. James Lutheran Church. On January 23 Herb had a very special guest. He was his Lord and Savior who told Herb he was coming home. Herb smiled and all his pain and sorry were gone. He is at rest in his heavenly home. In closing, we all know that Herb is safe in the hands of Jesus. If Herb could speak to us he would tell us to have a strong faith and live a Christian life in all we say and do because are riches blessing is knowing that Jesus died and rose again to give each of us eternal life. God shall " wipe away all tears" There's no death, no pain, nor fears; And they count not time by years, For there is "no night there." Until we meet again God be with you Herb as you rest in peace. • I remember Herb and Shirley from working at the Winnipeg Sun in the 1980's. They owned the Janome Sewing Centre downtown and became an advertising client for 10 years. Herb was such a gentle soul and his passion for his business side really showing when he greeted customers. Shirley and family please accept my condolences and please know it was always a pleasure to visit you both. - Posted by: LAURIE gyde (Business associate) on: Jan 26, 2022
