ERICH RUDOLF HEMMINGER
With his family at his side, Erich Rudolf Hemminger went home to be with his Lord on January 24, 2022 at the age of 90 years.
He was born in Thalberg, Manitoba on October 21, 1931 and moved to Winnipeg as a young adult. He spent most of his career working as a mechanic with MacMillan Bathurst Inc. He had a strong Christian faith and attended St. James Lutheran Church for most of his adult life.
Erich will be greatly missed by his loving wife Wanda with whom he enjoyed 60 years of marriage. He loved and enjoyed being with his family who will miss him greatly, including his son Eldon (Jill) Hemminger; daughter Connie (Stuart) Nixon; grandchildren, Marina (Dean) Ferley, Erica Nixon; great-grandchildren, Cole and Jade Ferley and brother Adolf Hemminger. He was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Karolina Hemminger; brothers, John, Christof, Louie, Ferdinand and sisters, Mary, Olga, Natalie and Helene.
A private memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1 with Pastor Richard Beinert of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Please contact the family if you wish to attend. Proof of vaccination is required. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.

Dear Hemminger Family, You don’t know me but I must tell you that to my family and me Erich is a hero. He saved my then baby sister’s life by rushing her to the Beausejour hospital with his new truck when she ate the contents of a botttle of baby’s own tablets. She was about two or less at the time. That was over sixty years ago and I have admired him greatly ever since. God bless all of you and may he comfort each one of you.
