EVA MARIA KOHALMI
August 27, 1932 - February 12, 2022
Eva Maria Kohalmi, peacefully passed away, at the St. Boniface Hospital, on February 12, 2022, at the age of 89 years.
Eva and her husband came to Canada in 1957 from Hungary to Winnipeg, where Eva and Andrew raised their son Andy. Eva had her own salon and was a hairdresser for most of her life. Eva had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed hairdressing, golfing at Bel Acres and other golf courses. Eva enjoyed going to the Hungarian Church. Eva enjoyed loving and spending time with her son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She was a kind loving person to everyone. Mom really missed Dad when he passed away.
Eva will be sadly missed by her son Andy and daughter-in-law Pam, granddaughter Wendy and Georel, great-grandchildren, Kalel and Gwendolyn, grandson David and Alli, great-grandchildren, Odin and Leo, grandsons, Byron and Dallas.
Eva will be sadly missed by her niece Patti and Ted McDougall, and their family, Jessie, Dallas, and Jadee-Lynn, nephew Gabriel Galovics, his daughters, Stephanie and Rob Allard, their family, Ryley, Landyn, and Wyatt, Michelle Galovics, and Sandy and Renz Holzer, Goddaughter Cynthia Kazina, and her daughter Sydney. Lifetime friends, Mary Posche and Elizabeth Ecker. Eva will also be missed by family in Hungary by her sister Erzsebet Tihanyl and family, her sister-in-law Eva Kohalmi, and family.
Eva was predeceased by her husband Andrew, her parents, Andrew's parents, her brother Gabriel, and Camilla Galovics, her brother Peter Galovics, brother-in-law George Kohalmi.
Eva will be sadly missed by many other close acquaintances, and will be deeply missed by her family.
Service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd.
A private interment with family to follow at a later date.
According to Covid 19 Provincial regulations, attendance is as follows: 50 vaccinated or not vaccinated. Masks must be worn at all times.
If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
