JANET KUBANOWSKI
October 12, 1947 - February 15, 2022
Janet peacefully passed away February 15, 2022, at the St. Boniface Hospital after a lengthy stay.
She is survived by her loving husband Frank; beloved son Martin (Lise) and grandkids, Simeon and Marinela; her brother Richard Bennett (Kathy); sisters-in-law, Charlotte, Judy, and Shannon; nephews, Nicholas Bennett and Shane Kuban (Rayann); nieces, Sherri (James Potvin), Cheryl (Scott Carpenter), Brenda, and Julie (Jaret Veresh), several great-nieces, a great-nephew as well as cousins.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Edward Bennett and Elizabeth (Castle), and her brothers-in-law, John Kuban, Jozef and Tony Kubanowski.
Janet Bennett was born October 12, 1947 in Slough, England. She met Frank in 1970 and married on July 11 after a whirlwind romance. She immigrated to Canada with her new husband and they settled in Val d'Or, Québec where in 1972 their precious son, Martin, was born. They eventually moved to Manitoba and bought their first home in St. James. They made many new friends at the Westview Dance Club. Janet started working for Canada Revenue when Martin was in school. A move to St. Vital allowed them to have several pets and plenty of collectibles in her curio cabinets. The family enjoyed their trailer at Spruce Sands for several years.
Special thanks to the wonderful team of doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Dialysis Unit.
Donations in Janet's memory may be made to CancerCare, 675 McDermot St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
