THERESA MARIE BUSCH
(nee BEROUD)

February 28, 1926 - February 19, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Marie Busch, our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of February 19, 2022, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB.
Mom is survived by her children, Larry (Gail) and Colleen (Bruce); her grandchildren, Jack (Karyn), Pam (Peter) and Ben, Tanya (Cory), Twyla and Carl; her great-grandchildren Josephine, Chandler, Veronica and Maverick, Luke and Ryan, Eric and Jason and also Jessica.
Mom was born west of Camper on her parents' original homestead. She was the sixth of seven children. During her teenage years she met a local fellow named Oscar Busch, who she then married on November 15, 1947. For their big wedding celebration they drove out to Camper to John and Elsie Townsend's, where Dad bought a keg of beer and the ladies made sandwiches. Next day they drove back to Winnipeg and back to work. Such an extravagant honeymoon!
Mom and Dad lived and worked in Winnipeg for four years. Dad worked doing shingling jobs and Mom sewed in a chenille factory as well as initially being a waitress for a short time at the café in the basement of the Eaton's store. Mom and Dad moved from Winnipeg to Camper in July of 1951 to start their life of farming and starting their family. Larry was born in Winnipeg in June of 1951 and Colleen in June 1955 in Ashern.
Mom lived on their original family farm for 70 years. She farmed with Dad for 35 years and remained on the farm for another 35 years. Mom and Dad were married for 39 years before he left us suddenly in May of 1987.
At the time of her passing, Mom had six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Each grandchild had their own unique relationship with "Granny". Most of her grandchildren had to travel at least a couple hours when they came to see their Granny. These visits, whether they were short or long, were very special to Mom. She treasured each and every visit and family get-together.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Oscar Busch; her parents, Marius and Jeanne Beroud; all her brothers and sisters, John, Marian, Herve, Louise, Edward and Moris in infancy; her grandson-in-law Dale Braybrook; nephews, Raymond Beroud and Don Smith; nieces, Opal Baitjes and Dakotah Gooch.
Special thanks to Jack Busch, Carl Parkes, Ben Busch, Eric Schultz, Rod Busch and Ernie Smith for being Mom's Pallbearers and delivering Mom to her final resting spot alongside Dad.
We would like to thank the various home care workers who helped Mom out and made it possible for her to stay at home for as long as she did. Their patience and support was much appreciated. Thank you to Dr. Roets, the paramedics, Ashern doctors and nurses and Health Sciences Centre staff for their excellent care of Mom. We would also like to thank John and Karen Gray and Dawn Tober for their compassion and guidance.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in the Ashern Centennial Hall with Dawn Tober officiating. Interment will follow in the Camper Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, c/o Julie Bergner, PO Box 721, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0.
Please note:
At this time COVID 19 protocols apply. All attendees must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination and one piece of photo identification. Masks are required. Thank you.

  • So sorry to hear that Theresa has passed away...You ALL will feel a very Empty spot in your Family's, with this "Extra Special member of the Family"gone from your midst .... You were so Blessed though; to have had her with you for so Long. She also, was Blessed to have been able to be with You all, and have a part in so many "happenings" that Family's experience.
