ROYCE JONSON
1936 -2022

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Royce Johann Pjetur just before dawn on Monday morning, February 28, 2022.
Royce is survived by his loving wife Isabel, son Brent (Sue) and daughter Kim, sister Marlene; grandchildren, Brittany (Aaron), Blake, Brooke, Courtney, Shawnee; and his precious great-grandchildren, Isabel and Oscar. Also left to mourn are sisters-in-law, Verna, Pat (Alan), Carol (Jon), Gwen and Marie; and brother-in-law Walter (Diane), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son Gregory; parents, Geiri and Gwen; and in-laws, Walter and Isabel; and brothers, Norman, Ken, Gary (Buddy); brothers-in-law, John and Clifford; sister-in-law Gerri and niece Brenda.
Royce was born September 12, 1936, and grew up on Hecla Island. He met his future wife Isabel here, and the rest is history. Royce and Isabel would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on April 5. Royce took electrical training at MIT and spent his career in the electrical industry. Shortly before his retirement, he was fortunate enough to acquire his family home on Hecla Island. He and Isabel spent many happy years enjoying life on the lake with old and new family and friends.
One of Royce's greatest joys was his trip to Iceland, where he spoke Icelandic with everyone he met and always wished one day to go back.
We remember Royce as intelligent, dedicated, kind, loyal, honest, and was very generous to his family.
Royce, you are now at peace after your long journey with Alzheimer's Disease.

Góda nótt elskan (good night, sweetheart). Fly with the angels.

The family wishes to thank all staff at West Park Manor who touched Royce's life. You became our extended family, and we will remember you all with gratitude. We are also extremely grateful for the love, support and companionship that was provided by Gwen, who was a pillar of support for both Royce and his family over the last several years.
Respecting Royce's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A family Celebration of Life will be held this spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba at 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba or West Park Manor Personal Care home.
