CAROLINE LOTZ

On March 4, 2022 our beloved aunt and friend passed away at the age of 88 years old at Fred Douglas Lodge, where she had resided for the past four years.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her sister-in-law Elizabeth in Germany; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John, as well as her siblings.
Caroline was born on January 6, 1934 in Croatia. She moved to Germany after she was married and to Canada with John in 1956. They settled in Winnipeg in the north end, where she worked for Mohrs Quilting for a number of years. Later, John and Caroline moved to a new house in West Kildonan that they lovingly turned into a home, living there for over 40 years. They worked in the yard and created beautiful gardens of vegetables and flowers which they shared with others. Their yard was the envy of the neighbourhood.
Caroline loved to do needlepoint and display her creations. She was a great cook and loved entertaining family and friends. John and Caroline's pride and joy was their dog, Balki, a Westie who they doted on for over 15 years.
In 2017, Caroline moved to Fred Douglas Lodge, where she enjoyed spending time with the other residents sharing meals, doing crafts, bowling, as well as other activities. Thank you to the incredible staff at Fred Douglas in the Willow Unit for their wonderful care and for making Caroline feel loved.
Caroline was a kind and generous lady who spoke three languages and always had a smile for everyone. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, with interment to follow. Proof of vaccination will be needed for those attending.
