ROBERT (BOB) PAQUIN
November 25, 1947 - March 2, 2022

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Paquin, aged 74, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bob passed away peacefully and surrounded by family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his partner Grethe Poulsen; son Tyler (Charlene); grandchildren, Liam and Brynn; brother Len (Connie) and many other friends and family. Bob was predeceased by his wife Carole (Hekle) and daughter Kelley.
Bob was a proud member of the Winnipeg Police Service for 32 years, where he held various roles including Detective and Staff Sargent. He also held various executive roles within the Winnipeg and Manitoba Police Associations and served on numerous volunteer boards after his retirement. His proudest community involvements were his many years of fundraising for the law enforcement torch run in support of the Special Olympics.
A fierce football player during his years at Kelvin High School, he maintained his love of sports and was a very avid fisherman. He enjoyed many fishing trips across Canada with his friends, son and grandson. Bob devoted a tremendous amount of effort raising his two children, in particular his daughter Kelley, who required increasing support throughout her life. He continued this generosity with his two grandchildren, who will certainly miss his visits especially during the holiday season.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the ICCS ward of the St. Boniface Hospital and the dialysis unit of Health Sciences Centre for the thoughtful care provided.
Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Green Acres Funeral Home. Mask use is preferred if attending. Those who wish to join us virtually may do so, accessing the Livestream through Bob's obituary at www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

  • Thank you for your service Bob. I was saddened to hear of your passing. I will always remember you as a wonderful father and an excellent cop. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Janie (Friend) on: Oct 17, 2022

  • I was so sorry to hear that Bob passed away. I worked with Len at Comcheq Services Ltd. for many years and had the opportunity to meet Bob and his children during that time. Bob was a wonderful person and a caring father. He was always talking about his children (bragging actually), but I thought that was great. That is the way it should be. Gone too soon. My condolences to the family. Cherish your memories. - Posted by: Jo Anne Crook (Friend) on: Mar 13, 2022

  • Bob has lived next door to us, in our condo building, for almost 20 years. He was one of the "family" in our complex and he will be missed by all. I enjoyed talking to him whenever the opportunity arose as we had similar interests and experiences in some things. Our sincere condolences to Bob's family at this sad time. Remember the good times, as we're sure there were many. - Posted by: Ken & Terry Thomson (Friends & Neighbours) on: Mar 12, 2022
