H. K. (HAL) HARDY
January 5, 1943 - March 14, 2022
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Harold Kenneth Hardy.
Hal loved spending time with friends, family and most especially, his beloved wife and partner in all things, Brenda.
Hal lived the life he wished for. He had ups and downs, successes and challenges but above all, he had a lot of fun. As he'd promised, it was never boring.
During his membership in the Winnipeg Jaycees, Hal served as President of the unit and received a JCI Senatorship - the highest honour bestowed on a Jaycee.
Hal's professional life spanned from the Signals Department at CNR to Manager of Business and Finance at the St. James-Assiniboia School Division to President and Owner of Buffalo Industries Ltd. where he worked alongside his son for over 25 years.
Even after his retirement from Buffalo Industries, Hal never let the dust settle. He was on-the-go even while relaxing, which may be why boating was his favourite pastime. He could often be found, with a beer and a smile, at the helm of Freedom IV on Lake of the Woods.
Hal will be sorely missed by his wife, Brenda Hardy (nee LeBeau), his children, Ken Hardy (Donna) and Cheryl Dallas (Clay), grandchildren, Lucas (Kaitlin), Julia, Brian, Cole and Kate and, sister and brothers, Murial, Tom, Doug and Norm, as well as by his special pal, 8-Ball, and many wonderful friends.
In accordance with Hal's wishes, there will be no formal services.
We'd like to thank the WRHA Palliative Care team for their incredible support and help during Hal's final journey.

I first met Hal many decades ago in the boating world. He was a great guy who loved his family fiercely. He was so proud of working along side his son and did everything he could to ensure that success. I will remember him as a kind man with a great smile who loved his family. Condolences to Brenda and the family. Neil Jr. - Posted by: Neil Carlson Jr (Friend) on: Mar 25, 2022

We have been very blessed in our lives having the friends we have. It did not mean we always agreed with them but at every step of the way they were there providing their perspective. Hal was part of that mosaic, he in his own way made us better. Kerry and Roger Kane - Posted by: Roger and Kerry Kane (Friends) on: Mar 22, 2022

Dear Brenda and family, Hal has been a big part of my life growing up being great friends with my parents, Bill and Edith Docking. I loved you guys coming out to the farm and giving rides in your Corvette. Hal always going home with my mum's home made butter tarts. My dad has lost a very dear friend. Thank you Brenda for being part of my kids's celebrations as they grew up, it was so kind of you and Hal to join us. My heartfelt sympathy to you. Hal was a wonderful brother and brother-in-law. Neil and I will always remember his generosity of spirit. We loved him dearly and he will be remembered with fondness. Our sympathy for his loss goes out to his dedicated and loving wife Brenda and his children Cheryl and Ken who cared for him with love and compassion until his passing. Hal had a wonderful and adventurous life. He will be missed by many loving friends. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, Brenda, Kenny and Cheryl and their families. Somehow fittingly we are on a boat thinking about him and his love of both sailing and power boating. A life well lived! - Posted by: Ken and Lynn Cooper (Long time friends) on: Mar 19, 2022
