WHITE, Marion obituary Marion Edith (Rae) White was born on June 17, 1933 to James and Esther (Bowden) Rae of Arcola, SK and moved to Napinka, MB in 1949. Marion attended school in Arcola, SK and Napinka, MB and after leaving school in 1950 she became a telephone switch board operator for MTS in Hartney, MB. On December 28, 1953, Marion married Frederick White of Hartney, MB. They moved to Hay River, NWT where they lived for 13.5 years. They had four children; Dennis, Darrell, Gordon and Janice. In 1967, they returned to Hartney to farm with Fred's parents and in 1982, they moved to the town of Hartney. Marion was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She enjoyed following the Toronto Blue Jays. Marion loved to curl, golf, knit, crochet, and sew. Marion was a member of the Hartney United Church Women and the Hartney Horticulture Society. Marion is predeceased by her parents, James and Esther Rae, by her husband, Frederick White, son, Darrell, sister, Lois Cornell, and brothers, John and Bill Rae. Marion leaves behind two sons, Dennis (Margaret) White, Gordon (Rosalie) White, and one daughter, Janice Houle (John Jasper) and sister, Donna Meadows (Gary Hubman) and sister-in-laws, Freda and Joan Rae and brother-in-law Bob Cornell. Marion had 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Hartney Community Health Centre, the Hartney United Church or to a charity of your choice.
