REVEREND WILLIAM BURTON FREEMAN CORKUM
Rev. Bill Corkum passed away at the age of 71, on Sunday, March 13, 2022, in Winnipeg MB.
He was predeceased by his father Burton and mother Edna. He passed away peacefully after only six weeks in Oakview Place. He leaves behind his wife Marilyn, son Nathan, and son Peter (Jill), much loved grandchildren, Lachlan, Lucy, Preston and Eliza; and sisters, Candace (Rick) and Debbie (Steve); and nephews, Simon and Breton, and his Anderson family.
Many people have come into Bill's life throughout the years and we are thankful for all of them. We are especially thankful for the Houghton family, and Nick, Kaila and Tyler.
Bill was born on February 3, 1951. He grew up in: Souris, PEI; Ottawa, Kemptville, ON; and Lunenburg, NS. He attended Mt. Allison University and AST completing his Theology degree. He was placed in Saskatchewan and served as the Minister in the United Church at North Portal. He continued his ministry alongside his wife at Maple Creek, Melfort, and Weyburn. In 2000 they moved to Winnipeg where he served for 11 years before retiring. He continued to volunteer in the Church and community, and was a member of The Winnipeg Male Chorus, and as a volunteer ambassador at the airport.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at Westworth United Church in Winnipeg on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. Sask. time / 4:00 p.m.)
The Church asks that all in attendance are vaccinated and wearing masks. They are restricting numbers but are providing a screen in a separate room for overflow. Although it would have been our preference to share a meal and gather everyone, the family will be available in the foyer for well wishes.
If you cannot attend the service or are fearful of gathering, please view the live stream at http://westworth.ca/. We look forward to hearing your messages and remembrances (in person and online) over the coming days!
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Canada Foodgrains Bank.

Hi, Marilyn & family. I may have sent condolences before, so do excuse me if so -- I'm 3 years older than Bill. I have let some of those in Bill's AST class know about his passing, as well as AST itself. Our prayers support you.
