MAGGIORINO (RINO) DREOLINI
January 15, 1927 - March 19, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Maggiorino Dreolini on March 19, 2022 at the age of 95.
He was predeceased by his wife Rina; parents, Antonio and Eleanora; and siblings, Ermano, Luigi and Maria. Rino is survived by his daughter Anna (Carl); sons, Albert (Judy) and Tony (Eleanor); grandchildren, Rina, Gina, Jason, Daniel and Alexa; brother Mario (Nella) and many relatives in Italy.
Rino was born in Basiliano, province of Udine in the Friuli region of northeast Italy. He completed his education after the fifth grade and began farm work. He developed a strong work ethic and self sufficiency growing up in the village of Villaorbaduring the Great Depression and the Second World War. He married Rina in 1950 and entered the masonry trade but there were few opportunities in post-war Friuli. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 and settled in Winnipeg. Rina, Anna and Albert joined him in 1956.
Rino was a bricklayer until his retirement in 1992. He was a very skilled tradesman and was often asked to do the more complex and decorative elements of his buildings. He took great pride in pointing out the work he did on many of the notable buildings in Winnipeg to his grandchildren.
After retiring, Rino enjoyed working in his garden, training his grape vines and apple trees and making wine. He enjoyed his daily bicycle ride around Assiniboine Park, tinkering in his garage, keeping up with current events and watching soccer. He took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
