ELEONORA BONANNI
(nee MONCADO)

Peacefully, with her loved ones by her side Eleonora Bonanni, age 76, of Winnipeg, passed away on March 25, 2022 in Winnipeg.
Eleonora was born in Canicatti, Sicily to Diego and Maria Moncado on May 16, 1945.
Eleonora leaves to cherish her memory - Maria Gettino, Antonia Campanella, Anna Campanella, Alfonza (Rosario) Vassallo, Vincenzo (Maria) Moncado, Lina Valentini, Salvatore (Debbie) Moncado and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceased in death by Carmine Bonanni (husband), as well Diego and Maria Moncado (parents), and Giuseppe Moncado (brother).
Eleonora was the fifth of nine children.
With the help of Eleonora's older sister Maria - who resided in Winnipeg - Eleonora at the age of 17, immigrated to Canada with the rest of her family as her father Diego Moncado had passed away.
Eleonora worked as a Seamstress until she met the love of her life in the Spring of 1971, Carmine Bonanni. Eleonora and Carmine married after three months of courtship and were married for 49 happy years.
Eleonora was loved by all and made many friends with her kind nature, generosity, and great sense of humor. Family was very important to Eleonora and she loved spending time with her brothers, her sisters, her nephews and her nieces. She was considered the comedian of the family - always telling funny jokes and funny stories with impersonations. Her best friend was her sister Alfonza, they were inseparable from the time they were little girls. If they were not with each other they would be on the phone minimum three times a day. Eleanora will be dearly missed by all.
The family would like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital Cardiac ICU Doctors, Nurses and Staff for all their help and care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, on Friday, April 1, 2022. Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. and Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum at Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB.
