BEVERLEY JEAN MAGURA
(nee SCHMIDT)

April 28, 1943 - March 26, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley on March 26, 2022.
Mom will forever be in the hearts of her family - her husband Leonard; children, Grant (Eileen), Lesley (Warren), David (Jennifer); and her precious grandchildren, Clare, Caitlin, Cieran, Melanie, Matthew, Emily and Madeline; sister Shirley (Don) and brother Ron (the late Marceda).
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret; and brother-in-law Gordon.
Her passion was spending time with her pride and joy - her family. She loved her husband with all her heart. They were married 56 years. They were inseparable and their devotion to each other is legendary. They enjoyed travelling together, watching curling, Jets hockey and going on road trips. Don't forget the ice cream! Mom enjoyed tapping her toes to music and singing her favorite songs. She loved to knit and watch old movies and TV shows. She was famous for her Christmas snowball cookies and Christmas chicken. David is honored that she passed on the torch to him for preparing the Christmas Eve gravy. Everyone loved Mom. Her smile could light up a room and she enjoyed talking to everyone. Invariably the words used to describe Mom are kind and caring.
Her biggest happiness was spending time with her grandchildren - helping to learn to tie shoes, baking, knitting, cooking for them, and of course going out for family dinners with "the kiddies".
Mom and Dad traveled extensively including trips to Scotland, Cuba, Hawaii, Mexico and to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver where they were joined by not only Grant and his family but Uncle Ken and Auntie Connie. For Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary all the families met up for a very special celebration in Edmonton!
Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and the Home Care staff that were entrusted with the care of this very special lady.
A memorial service to celebrate Moms' life will be held Saturday, April 9, 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A private family interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

  • To Len, Grant, Lesley, and David, We are heartbroken to hear of Bev's passing. She was the most kind, thoughtful, and caring person one could only hope for in a friend. We had many memorable times together through the years. Although she loved to come to stay with us in Florida during the winter, she limited her stay so she could get back to see her grandchildren. She was definitely family oriented. We will miss her dearly. Our deepest sympathies.....Love, Ken and Connie - Posted by: Ken and Connie Magura (Brother and sister-in-law) on: Apr 04, 2022
