JAILALL SURUJLALL
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Brother-in-Law, who peacefully passed away on April 2, 2022, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Jai was the youngest brother to Radha and Eunice. The love of his life predeceased Jai, his wife Chandni (Sandra) Surujlall, along with his mother and father Dhan and Babulall Surajlall, brothers, Moti and Eshwar, and sister Mavis.
In addition, Jai leaves behind his daughters, Rachael and Sabrina, and his beloved granddaughter Talia.
Jai was born in 1953 in Windsor Forrest, Guyana, South America. Jai immigrated to Canada in 1975 and attended Red River College, where he earned his 4th year in Power Engineering. Jai worked with the Winnipeg School Division for over 29 years, where he made many of his lifelong friendships. Jai took joy in his coffee dates with friends, enjoying good food with family, giving back to charitable causes, and sharing stories of his career with others. Jai was beyond proud of his grandchild Talia and would share her accolades with everyone. Jai was reliable and always a good resource for anyone that needed support.
Prayers and cremation were held privately for Jai's immediate family with a Celebration of Life happening on Saturday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
We want to thank the teams at the ICU, 5B and 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion towards Jai during his medical journey.

My sincerest condolences to Jai’s family and friends. I worked at Sisler with Jai and he always went out of his way to share a story and a laugh with me. He was such a kind soul. I’ll always remember when we learned that we both lived in North York - specifically near Rene Gordon Elementary School on Graydon Hall Drive. Such a funny coincidence! He always talked about his beloved wife, daughters and granddaughter. I’m sure Jai is very happy to be reunited with his wife once again. - Posted by: Bridget (Coworker) on: Apr 16, 2022
