RONALD (RON) JAMES BLAIR
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Ron passed away on April 11, 2022 at the age of 93.
He leaves to mourn the love of his life, Ruby (née Burke) whom he married in 1953; sons, Barry, Gordon (Anne), Grant (Judith) and Ian (Leslie); grandchildren, Paul (Clare), Holly, Matthew and Jamie; great-grandchildren, James and Rose and his sisters, Shirley and Lorraine.
Ron was born to Britton and Mary Blair on April 7, 1929 and raised in Perth, ON. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Rebecca.
After farming throughout his childhood and into adulthood, he shifted his career to working at the Canadian Tire store in Perth. In 1970, he brought his family to Winnipeg, MB, where he was asked to help open and become the store manager of the former Canadian Tire store on Isabel Street.
Immensely proud of his boys, he enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors, teaching them how to hunt and fish. He also cherished family vacations, watching his boys play sports and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves a wonderful legacy and countless memories with all who loved him.
The family would like to extend our gratitude towards the staff at Rosewood Supportive Housing and Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for the wonderful care Ron received.
A private family service and interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba or the Meadowood Personal Care Home Foundation.
