WOLFGANG (WILLIAM) WILLI KELLER
May 4, 1937 - April 15, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wolfgang Keller on April 15, 2022 at the young age of 84.
Wolfgang was born on May 4, 1937 in Darmstadt, Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 at the age of 19. He first settled in Regina where he began working as a Paste Up Artist at Kanada Kurier (a German-language newspaper). The company relocated to Winnipeg in the late 1950s where he worked for over 45 years. In 1962, he met the love of his life, Dyanne Springer, and they married on November 26, 1966.
He had a passion for watching sports, especially soccer. He had a love for animals. His favourite place to visit was Las Vegas.
He was predeceased by his brother Manfred, and his parents, Hedwig and Wilhelm. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dyanne; children, Donald (Micah), Cynthia (Ron) and Michael (Jennifer); grandchildren, Karli (Tyler), Kayla, Kira, Kody and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Paislee and Ilah; nephew Konstantine (Konny), his wife Astrid and their son Marco.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.
Funeral will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. All are welcome to attend.
A longer obituary will follow at a later date.

I was shocked to learn of Wolfgang's passing. He was one of the very first Germans I had the pleasure to meet shortly after my arrival in Winnipeg in December of 1973. Wolfgang worked as a typesetter at Kanada Kurier, I had been hired as an editor directly from Germany. Wolfgang was one of the most pleasant and truly likeable people I have met in my life. Always true to himself, never showing off. A hard worker, a true family man and a gentleman of impeccable character. My condolences go out to Dyanne and her family. R.I.P. buddy.
