ISABEY: (Jack) Jacques Lucien Joseph was born October 14, 1939 to Narcisse and Germaine Isabey. Jack was little brother to Marie (Fern) Beaudry, Marguerite (Rollie) Hennessey and John (Donnie) Isabey. Jack was educated at convents, first in Wauchope, Saskatchewan, then in Winnipeg at St. Boniface College and St. Paul's College. In 1959, Jack attended DeVrie Tec in Toronto, Ontario achieving his certificate in TV and Radio Electronics, back before computer chips were used. In 1962, after returning home, Jack joined the family business (Hartney Machine and Motors), where he ran the bodyshop for forty-six years. In 1969 Jack married Claris Jasper and together they had four children; Robert, Nicole (Rob) Bodin, Nadine (Jeri) McCue and Natalie (Jack) Peet. Seven perfect and wonderful grandchildren; Faith, Emerson, Addyson, Bryce, Renée, Seth and Kelsie. The very most important thing in Jack's life was his family, in whom he was tremendously proud. Jack was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. He sang in the Grande Clairiere choir and so enjoyed being a part of this fun group. He was a member of Hartney Elks for 60 years. He obtained his private pilot license and was a member of the Hartney Flying Club and the Souris Flying Club. He served a term on the Hartney Town Council and the Souris Hospital Board. He was a volunteer firefighter and ambulance attendant for many years. A time with Civil Air Search and Rescue was a highlight for Jack, especially when the Hercules was in Brandon for their use. Pancake breakfasts saw Jack hauling his grill around, cooking hundreds of pounds of bacon over the years, working diligently and cheerfully for the flying club and Elks. Jack took much pleasure in all things, Planes, Trains and Automobiles. He was especially proud of his 1951 Ford and drove it in many parades. After Robert moved to Yellowknife, Jack made many summer fishing trips to spend time with him and enjoyed their evening Cognacs. Roberts "family" in the North became friends to Jack and it comforted him to know Robert had such good friends. A private family and friends service will be held at St. Jean's Catholic Church with internment in the Grande Clairiere Cemetery.
