1923 - 2022
Our beloved Mother and Oma passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by our Father and Opa Jan in 1993.
Mom was born on June 24, 1923 in Salzburg Germany. She came to Canada in 1954 with our Dad and their young family and settled in Winnipeg. They worked hard to build a new life and home.
Mom was the ultimate Mrs. Clean and took great pride in her house and yard. She worked for many years at Salisbury House where her cheerful and friendly personality made her everyone's favourite waitress. During this time she also made many trips back home to Germany where she still has family.
Mom had a great sense of humour and loved to sing and laugh. She was well-liked by everyone who met her.
She will be greatly missed and forever cherished by her daughter Rose, son Sig (Jacquie) and daughter Silvia. Grandchildren, Lisa, Robyn (Paul), Chelsea (Mark) and Scott. Great-grandchildren, Josh, Megan, Brittany, Rylen, Garrett, Rhys, and Austin.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Dear Silvia. I believe we have been friends since we were 13. Even as a child, I always remembered your Mom, with her happy eyes and quick smile, as making me feel good about myself. She always greeted Phil and I lovingly and we always enjoyed being with her. Mrs. Zieba's friendship with Phil's Mom and also with my sister's mother in law, Lilian Normandale made our relationship often feel more like family. Mrs. Zieba was a wonderful roll model. Her hard work ethic (so evident in the way she cared for her homes), her happy nature and the way she treated everyone she met are the characteristics that I most wish to emulate. She made everyone feel welcome and we always loved visiting with her. Sending you, Sig, Rose and families our deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom.
