Our condolences to Joyce and family. Harvey and Joyce were a wonderful family. I enjoyed babysitting for them in my teenage years. Our family has known the Vaags family for many years. We send you all our sympathies, may the memories bring you peace and comfort. - Posted by: Gerrie and Jeff, Willy and Maria Lange (Family Friends, past babysitter) on: May 12, 2022

My late husband (JC) and I met Harv and Joyce as freshmen at Dordt. We had fun hanging out and going to hockey games. Harv and Rick even visited us in California shortly after we were married. Fun memories! Harv always had a smile on his face and was such a great guy. So sorry to hear the news and see that he is gone so soon. My heart goes out to Joyce and his family and friends. So nice to read his obituary and see all the wonderful things he did with the life that God gave him. Well done, good and faithful servant. Till we meet again... - Posted by: Connie Van Dyken Hoag (friend) on: Apr 26, 2022

We are so sad that Harvey’s life was cut short as he was so full of life and appeared to have lots more to accomplish. We send our deep felt condolences to the whole family and know that this loss will be very difficult to deal with. I do know that the love of God and your love for each other will help you with this tragedy! Please know that we are praying for all of you. - Posted by: Deb Mazur and Richard Mazur (Alex Vaags in laws) on: Apr 25, 2022

I had the privilege of riding the combine this past summer with Harvey abd Clark. He told me all about how things work. It was my first ride in a combine and he made it really interesting. I could tell that he gave a lot of that information to Clarky who knew a lot about the whole farming routine already. I could also tell that Clarky had a special relationship with Harvey which I’m sure he will have those memories for the rest of his life. - Posted by: Deb Mazur (Alex mother in law Leah’s mother) on: Apr 25, 2022

Condolences to Joyce and her entire family. Harvey was a courteous, humble but intelligent man who possessed quite a wit. Many years ago, while partnered together in District 4, working the dreaded midnight shift, Harvey mistakenly drove through a stop sign. Having previously invited me to be a passenger in his field crop dusting plane, and me politely denying the offer, I pointed out one of the reasons, having just witnessed him blow through a stop sign. In his usual calm manner, he looked at me and expressionlessly deadpanned, “ Joe, there are no stop signs in the sky.” A true gentleman! R.I.P. my friend. - Posted by: Joe Bussoli (Friend) on: Apr 24, 2022

We, the Stecy family, neighbours to John & Sarah and their family, as children, send you our sincere condolences on Harvey’s passing. We all knew Harvey, and I babysat him and his siblings when I was a teen. Most sincere sympathy to Sarah, whom I appreciated & adored for her wonderful baking. May God bless all. - Posted by: Verna Stecy (Neighbours) on: Apr 24, 2022

Harvey and I graduated from recruit class #113 of the Winnipeg Police Service. Harvey had an easygoing manner and quickly developed a bond with myself and the entire recruit class. He always had a kind word to say whenever our paths crossed in our policing career. RIP, my condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Jim Hay (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2022

I first met Harvey when he started with Winnipeg Police. Although our career paths never aligned past the first few years, he remained a friend throughout our careers. A true gentleman and good hearted and natured person throughout, he will be fondly remembered and missed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Jeff Bellingham (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2022
