Mary Friesen, age 93, passed away peacefully at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home in Winnipeg on April 28, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband Peter died in 2015 after 65 years of marriage.
Besides husband Peter, Mary was predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Maria Penner of Winkler, Manitoba; brothers, Isaac, Martin, Jake, Dave, John and Art.
Mary is survived by her four children, Brian (Gayle), Marilyn, Ruth (Vince), Esther (Peter); siblings, Helen Letkeman, Ann Ralston (Bob), Agatha Friesen (Cornie), Tina Friesen, Eve Wilms (Bill), Henry (Sharon), Abe (Marian), and Marge Hamm (Fred); grandchildren, Bradey, Alexandra (David), Aemil (Desire), Louise with children, Theodore, Greta, and Arthur; Colin (Demetra), Carla (Christian) with children, Leif and Sonny; and Gayle (Niels) with daughter Grace.
The family wishes to thank Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home for the love and care Mary received in the last four and a half years of her life.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield Street with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Springstein, Manitoba.
Donations in Mary's memory may be made to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home or to Mennonite Central Committee.
