JOAN MARGARET ARLENE LITOWITZ
April 4, 1938 - April 29, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister Joan Litowitz. Joan peacefully passed away on April 29, 2022, following a lengthy illness, with family by her side. Joan had just celebrated her 84th Birthday.
Joan is survived by her brother's Mark (Dodie) Litowitz, Steinbach, and Bruce (Tommiko) Litowitz, Sooke, BC, nephews Jason Litowitz, Winnipeg and John Litowitz, Victoria, BC, nieces Heather Pope, St. Andrews, MB, Lianne Britnell, North Vancouver, BC and Lyndi Wilfred, Blackfalds, AB and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Hazel Litowitz, brothers Albert and Ernie Litowitz and her sister Florence Walker
Joan worked for the Manitoba Telephone System for more than 30 years in various training and marketing positions. She retired in 1993. Following retirement, Joan was very active with Manitoba Telephone Pioneers, Unicef (she received a National recognition for her volunteer work and support of Unicef), numerous hobbies and travelling, Joan was the second mother to all her nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart.
As per Joan's request, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. P. Harris and her staff at Cancer Care Manitoba, Grace General Hospital and all the Nurse's and Aide's at Riverview Health Centre, CDW 4, for their care and compassion.
Donations of remembrance can be made in Joan's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, Winnipeg Humane Society or a Charity of your choice.
