WESLEY: Alice Wesley passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Shoal Lake/Strathclair Health Center in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. She was born in Deepcar, England on March 17, 1925 to Clarence and Annie (Garlick) Hall. The family moved to Canada in 1929 and lived in Foxwarren, MB in CPR housing. Alice started working at age 14 with the Smith family. She met and married Disney (Dick) Wesley of Carroll, MB on June 11, 1948 and they had 64 wonderful years together. Her last position before retiring was with Fred's Drycleaners. She was a member of Trinity United Church and a participant in the choir, couples club and taught Sunday school. Alice loved to golf, bowl, play bridge and most of all she enjoyed times with her family. She kept in close touch with all of her relatives and delighted in visiting them over the years. Her greatest joy was her five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She delighted in going on holidays with them, attending all their weddings and just generally spending time getting to know them. She is survived by daughters, Jean (Gary) and Sharon (Mas); grandchildren: Brent (Susan), Tracy (Tim), Cory (Anne), Mikko (Chris), Allison (Perry); great-grandchildren: Elaine, Scott, Amy (Derek), Stuart (Jodie), Matthew, Rachel, Tori, Kara, Leighton, Kate and Dylan; great-great-grandson, Mason; brothers-in-law, Clare Cove and Ken Field, sisters-in-law, Florence Wotton, Bev Wotton, Joyce Opperman and Joan Wesley. She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Clarence; daughter, Sylvia and husband, Dick as well as all of her eight siblings: George Hall, Cyril Hall, Hilda Goodwin, Ivy Woodhouse, Wilfred Wotton, Robert Wotton, Edith Field, Lloyd Wotton. Alice embraced life and approached each day as a blessing. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My Condolences to the family. Alice was a wonderful person and a great friend to my parents, Bert and Doreen. I had a nice chat with Alice last summer at Victoria Landing after Mom had passed away. Now they are all together again. Mom and Alice trying to figure out those crossword puzzles. Dad and Dick getting ready to golf. RIP Mickey Delmage - Posted by: Mickey Delmage (friend) on: May 24, 2022

  • I have so many fond memories of Auntie Alice, from early days and sleeping over having cereal before going off to bed but wished it had been one of those infamous pies of hers! I remember being in awe of her, making so many of them every day when she and Uncle Dick had their little cafe in big valley. I loved how active and full her life was and only hope to be just like her as the years creep on! With love and deep condolences to her girls and all her family. You are in our thoughts today and always! Donna and Bobby Cram - Posted by: Donna Cram (Niece) on: May 21, 2022

  • What great memories I have of Alice. Always have happy and interested in all our goings on. I’m still working on making pie crust as good as hers. Someone to model one’s life after. Rest In Peace, Alice. - Posted by: Bev Wotton (Sister-in-law ) on: May 21, 2022
