BERNHARD VICTOR (VIC) FALK
April 16, 1944 - May 26, 2022
Bernhard Victor (Vic) Falk of Brandon passed away suddenly at his home, surrounded by family, on May 26, 2022.
The youngest child of Bernhard (Ben) and Margaret (Schellenberg) Falk, Vic was born in Portage la Prairie on April 16, 1944. He grew up on the family farm at Westbourne, MB and received his education in Westbourne and later in Winnipeg.
Vic was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Margaret Falk, stepmother Sarah (Borne) Falk and infant son Victor Falk (1988).
He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl (Leach) Falk, daughter Sharon (Damian) Falk-Hamilton, grandchildren, Lyndsey, Savannah and Benson Hamilton, sister Gert (Hank) Neufeld of Stonewall and brother Dave (Sandra) Falk of Portage la Prairie. He will also be remembered by niece Stephanie (Henry) Verhoeven, nephews, Brant (Brenda) Neufeld, Daryl Neufeld, Darcy (Lori) Falk and their families and others who were his family and whom he loved during his life journey.
Vic had many jobs during his life in the sales and service industry that took him from various Manitoba locations to Alberta and back. Along the way he made many friends, always enjoying the camaraderie shared. This ease with making friends was also evident when he made his first trip to Mexico. Cheryl has special memories of how they were soon being invited to share a meal with local families and returned on future trips to renew these friendships. Vic was a former member of Kinsmen and Rotary Clubs and enjoyed volunteering with these groups and also with the Wheat Kings, Special Olympics and the Westman Annual Christmas Dinner. His favourite "job" was dressing up as Santa for various local events.
CHERYL LYNN BARBARA (LEACH) FALK
July 26, 1959 - June 1, 2022
With her loving daughter, Sharon, by her side, Cheryl Lynn Barbara (Leach) Falk passed away at the Brandon General Hospital on June 1, 2022.
Cheryl was born in Winnipeg, MB on July 26, 1959 and received her education there, graduating from River East Collegiate in 1978.
On January 3, 1987 Cheryl married Victor Falk at a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Bird's Hill Provincial Park. They resided in Winnipeg where their child, Victor, was born. A short time later they moved to Brandon where they resided until their passing.
Cheryl was predeceased by her husband Bernhard Victor (Vic) Falk and their infant son Victor (1988). She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Damian) Falk-Hamilton, grandchildren, Lyndsey, Savannah and Benson Hamilton, sisters and brothers-in-law, Gert and Hank Neufeld of Stonewall and Sandra and Dave Falk of Portage la Prairie, numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She also leaves behind her furry friend Olaf, who her grandchildren have quickly adopted.
The death of their child, Victor, deeply affected Cheryl and she embraced the role of mother when they adopted Sharon Ann in 2009. She relished the additional role of grandmother to Lyndsey, Savannah and Benson. Cheryl was devoted to her grandchildren and loved being part of their lives. Times were spent at Grandma's house baking and doing crafts and the appearance of a grandchild at the door brought a special light to her eyes.
A celebration of Vic and Cheryl's lives will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Shady Lane Tea Room, Trans Canada Hwy., east of Brandon. The format will be a come and go reception but for family and friends wishing to be there, a brief program will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Donations in Vic and/or Cheryl's memory may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6 or to Funds for Furry Friends, 740 Rosser Ave., Suite 208, Brandon, MB R7A 0K9.
Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times
The laughter, the song
The good life I lived while I was strong.

I am extending my most heartfelt and sincerest condolences, Sharon, to you and your lovely family, on the loss of your father and mother. Your Mom was happiest when the children were over for a visit, or, when there was some kind of function involving them. Cheryl never shied away from sharing something regarding her family. She loved you all very much. You were the gleam in her eyes! I spoke with Cheryl several times during Spring-time and I recall how anxious she was to go home during one of her hospital stays. That's all she wanted; was to go home. Again, my deepest condolences. R.I.P. Cheryl - Posted by: Karen Zaretski (Friend) on: Jun 04, 2022

I had just touched base with Cheryl a few years ago on Facebook. I grew up on Macaulay Cres. and she was on Broad Bay so we did walk to school together. We went to junior high and high school together at Chief Peguis and River East. We had lots of laughs and enjoyed chatting these last couple of years. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. - Posted by: Terry-Lynne Hause (McPherson) (Classmate) on: Jun 04, 2022
