HEINRICH (HENRY) DUECK
November 5, 1928 – June 9, 2022

On June 9, 2022, Dad left us after a brief hospital stay.
He is survived by his children, Henry (Beth), Kenn (Cindy), Ed, Judy (Darrell), and Katherina; grandchildren, Jordan (Krista), Amy (Tony), Justin, Bill (Erin), Michael (Maria), Skyler (Jordyn), Summer (Josh) and Zack; step-grandchildren, Tanis (Troy), Jodi (Mike) and Bailey (Leonard); great-grandchildren, Nikalas, Pelham, Hudson, Dominic, Arlo, Holden, Willa, Elliana, Chase, Auden and Claira; step-great-grandchildren, Lexi, Maddie, Jorja, Leandra and Jill; siblings, Sally, Kay (Jim) and Ann and in-laws, Frank, Nora, Neil (Doreen), Edna and Ben (Susan); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members who continued to stay in touch with "uncle Henry" over the years.
Dad was predeceased by Gertrude, his loving wife of 66 years; his parents, Peter and Sarah; brothers, Thomas, Peter and John; sisters, Helen, Betty and Maria; in-laws, Herman (Ann), Lena and Henry, John (Edna), Pete and Helen, Henry and Margaret, Eva and Henry/Abe, Ed (Nora), Ruth (Frank) and Wilbert (Sally) and his dear friend Jean Anson.
We are grateful for the amount of time we had with our beloved father and thankful that he is no longer in pain. The lessons taught by him and mom together never felt like lessons, but have shaped us all. Regardless of the circumstance, we knew we could rely on them for love and support.
Dad's service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane, Winnipeg, Manitoba with interment at Sage Creek Cemetery to follow. (All are welcome).
In lieu of flowers, donations to help others may be made in Dad's memory to the Mennonite Central Committee or a charity of your choice.
