DORIS VERNA BARR
March 7, 1923 - June 14, 2022
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Barr at the age of 99. After a long illness, Doris is again with the love of her life Bill.
Doris is survived by her daughter Jane Pereux (Rene), son Dan Barr (Michele), and grandchildren, Ray Pereux (Lisa), Lianne Pereux (Daniel Billinkoff), Ryan Copen (Tegan), Logan Copen (Camille), Will Janssen (Gill), Erin Janssen, and Michael Janssen (Stephanie Strempler); great-grandchildren, Shyla, Sadie, Rae-Anne, Nathen, Aria, Luke, Lydia, Leo and Jake.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2020 and her daughter Nancy in 2011, as well as her brother Jack and her parents, Arthur and Maria Richards.
The family and loved ones of Doris would like to thank the staff of Vista Park Lodge for their many years of care and compassion.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
If friends or loved ones so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice.

Doris has finally re-united with the true love of her life - Bill. He missed her and it was time! Doris was such a sweet gentle lady with always a kind word. The love they had for each other was undeniably the greatest of real life love stories. I miss you both and all the chats, laughs and chocolate bars. So sad to see that Doris passed away. 99 years,amazing. Our family lived across from the Barr family in Niakwa Park and there was never a dull moment. Talk about hospitality.These were good days, growing up with Bill and Doris's children ( and hunting dogs). Later years saw Bill living at the same place my mother did, Dakota House. I had the luck to see Mr. Barr often and he often would excuse himself as he drove down the street to visit his wife daily. He has the best sense of humor , and I think that may be one of the reasons Doris lived to 99.
