Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I was both surprised and saddened when I read about passing of Debra, I never did meet her, but she had recently contacted me through Ancestry. She introduced herself as a distant cousin, and shared memories of me and my family when we were young, and of the Whitemouth area where we would visit my father’s Uncles on the Knopf family farms. She had very kind words to say about my father and mother, and my mother’s relationship with the Knopf family so many years ago. She was very kind, and very thoughtful with her sentiments. • I was lucky enough to be married to Deb for almost 20 years. We met by pure happenstance in 1998, shortly after I returned to Winnipeg after spending 20 years in Montreal. The woman swept me off my feet. I was totally captivated by this gorgeous, blue-eyed blonde with the big personality and zest for life. She was fun and she was funny. No woman has ever made me laugh so much. She was warm and passionate; the chemistry between us was off the charts. We were crazy for each other and soon fell head over heels in love. Our early years together, most of our years together, were some of the best of my life, and I've had a great life. So many good times, so many experiences, so much loving. Deb could also be a complicated woman, and many would say that I could be a complicated man (I know Deb would). ;) Relationships can be tough and, despite our best efforts, irreconcilable baggage began to accumulate. Things came to a head in 2018 and we agreed to set each other free. Now, I may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but I'm smart enough to know that, despite how things went south towards the end, I was a very lucky man to to have had this woman as my friend, my partner, my lover for all those years. I wished her a happy rest of her life and moved back to Winnipeg, So sad the rest of her life was so short-lived. Thanks for all the memories, Deb; they roll through my brain on a regular basis. Deepest sympathies to all those out there who are missing her, from me and the whole Grace clan. Our hearts go out to you. - Posted by: Mick Grace (Ex-sweetheart) on: Jun 22, 2022

  • Well my friend, it’s my birthday today and I am missing your early morning birthday message 😢. I have many great memories from my friendship with Debbie. Her horse Flicka, her black cat named Mud. Collecting bulrushes in the ditch, picnics, bike rides, sleepovers, long talks, belly laughs. I will miss your humour. Heaven has gained an angel 👼 and I have lost my buddy. Rest In Peace - Posted by: Heather Sylvester (Palidwor) (Life long friend) on: Jun 20, 2022
