BLAISE I. FERNANDO

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Blaise passed away peacefully in his home on June 14, 2022, spending his last days surrounded by his family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Pearl; daughters, Lisa (Darrell) and Leanne (Brent) and his beautiful grandchildren whom he adored: Aidan, Ella, Anaya, Eve and Alyssa. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Claudia and many cousins, nieces and nephews, both in Sri Lanka and Canada.
Respecting Dad's wishes, cremation will take place followed by a private Celebration of Life at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Tuesday June 21 at 10:00 a.m. Family and closest friends known to Blaise are invited to attend. Private interment at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery will occur immediately following the reception.

  • My dear cousin Blaise was a pioneer in many ways from attending Law College in Ceylon, to migrating to Canada, assisting his dear wife Pearl with her Montessori School, encouraging Lisa and Leanne at every turn. After obtaining his PhD Blaise turned to teaching and was admired by both students and colleagues. Blaise often visited his six cousins in Toronto including attending my wedding.
