With his wife Ruth holding his hand, Art Huebert passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on June 20, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 79 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gerhard and Katie Huebert and his brother Helmut Huebert (Dorothy). He is survived by three sons and their spouses and six greatly loved grandchildren, Bradley Huebert (Shauna), Noah (Rachel), Glory and Joel; Mark Huebert (Neena), David and Eden; Brian Huebert (Sonia), Angelina. He is also survived by his brother Walter (Joy) and nieces and nephews.
Art enjoyed his career in education at Fort Richmond Collegiate in Winnipeg, Immanuel Academy in California and at MBCI in Winnipeg. Art loved life and had so many interests which included birding, gardening, travel, sports, collecting old books, poetry, art galleries etc. After retirement, he spent hours creating a beautiful yard. He loved engaging strangers in conversation which usually included his humour and were surprisingly very well received. Very special to him was his involvement and friendship with international students. He loved his volunteering time at Siloam Mission and the clientele he learned to know through this. Also meaningful to him were his volunteering experiences with MCC and other helping organizations. Art was greatly loved and will be missed.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and support staff for the wonderful and attentive care he received in his five days in ER and 6A at St. Boniface Hospital. The family also felt cared for.
There will be a private family memorial service, as per Arts wishes, on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Siloam Mission or MCC.

Dear Ruth & family, I am so sorry to learn of your loss and offer heartfelt sympathy to all of you. May your faith and precious memories help you through these difficult days. Art must have been a wonderful man. - Posted by: Bunny Paci (Friend & co-worker of Ruth) on: Jul 06, 2022
I worked with Art at MBCI. He was a gentle soul and a kind man. I appreciated his humour and his genuine interest in others. I often think about his words of wisdom imparted freely to those who needed truth. His understanding and helpful direction will never be forgotten. He spoke of his family with great admiration and love. We shared sons who had a love for snakes which prompted some hilarious snake stories. To his family, I wish you many warm remembrances as you navigate this part of the journey. My prayers are with you all! - Posted by: Maxine Gacek (Co-worker/friend ) on: Jul 02, 2022
