RITA ALICE MARY BIRCH
(nee LAMIRANDE)
June 13, 1932 – June 20, 2022
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Rita Birch on June 20, 2022 at Actionmarguerite St. Vital (AMSV), Winnipeg, homeland of her Metis ancestors. She was blessed by the presence of loving family as she prepared and peacefully left this world. She celebrated 90 years on June 13.
Rita is mourned by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson whom she welcomed and kept in her heart always. She is lovingly remembered by cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
Rita was predeceased by her son Wayne, former husband Ron, parents, Katherine and Laurence Lamirande, and siblings, Emile, Aime, Katy and Denise. Thoughts of reunion with these and other dear family members and friends comforted her.
Those who knew and loved her are invited to join us at the Church of the Holy Rosary on July 21, 11:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life, followed by a reception at the church, and interment at St. Vital Cemetery.
Thank you to the AMSV staff for their care and accommodation of family wishes during Rita's last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North End Women's Centre at 394 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg.

Mrs. Birch was a great lady who welcomed me into their home without reservation, no matter what trouble Wayne and I got up to. It couldn't have been easy with her own free spirited teenagers to worry about. I will remember her fondly.
