Mrs. Luten was a longtime friend and travel mate of my mother, Jenny Carter. She seemed a constant and gracious presence in my mother's life. My mother predeceased her by a few months. I remember my parents taking care of her cat Smokey a couple of times when she went on trips. Rest easy, Mrs. Luten. - Posted by: James Carter (Friend) on: Aug 15, 2025

Ellen was my former mother-in-law for several years. Ellen was a wonderful, kind, patient and caring soul. I’ll never forget how she helped us out (family) whether it be financial, buying us something or doing jobs at our home (she was handy). One time, I told her how indebted I felt after she helped us buy something. She replied “It’s only money Ron”. Ellen was a very good cook. I’ll never forget all the meals and deserts I enjoyed so much. Having us all over for supper often was her pleasure even in the years before she retired. I’ll never forget how much I liked talking with her and all the laughs we shared. To me she is a shining example of the type of person you would strive to model yourself after. Ellen saw the good in everything and saw the glass as always half full. Ellen was a huge part of my life. I looked forward to her frequent visits and we would do many things together. With very few exceptions I wanted her included in every outing. She adored her grandchildren and loved her dog Tasha who she regularly took for morning walks in Bird’s Hill Park. Ellen was so full of warmth and love. She always has and always will be a constant presence in the back of my mind as I remember her often with a smile, a tear and much love. - Posted by: Ron (former son-in-law) on: Dec 24, 2022
