CAROLINE (CAROL) LAURA HECKERT
December 19, 1950 – July 21, 2022

Carol Heckert passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Bethesda Regional Health Center, Steinbach, MB.
She is survived by her three aunts, many cousins and their families and all of her friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Laura Heckert.
Carol was born on December 19, 1950, in Steinbach, Manitoba. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith. Carol grew up on the family farm. She attended Kindale School, graduated at 18, and spent the next ten years helping and working on the farm. When Carol was 28, she started working at Kindale Industries. She worked over the years in sewing, woodworking, packaging, fasteners, and screen-printing departments. Carol officially retired in December of 2021 after 43 years of service.
Carol loved to travel, dining out, dancing and parties, especially the Kindale Christmas banquets.
Carol spent many years actively bowling in two leagues on Saturdays and Tuesdays. She was connected to her community visiting certain businesses on Saturday mornings and finishing in the afternoons.
She was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Winnipeg Jets and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Carol was strong in her faith and rarely missed Sunday service. She loved the fellowship and for many years after church, she would go with her mom to Smitty's and then for long Sunday drives.
For the last five years Carol gained a second family when she moved in with Angie. Carol quickly felt at home. Her and Angie would go on trips, many girls' nights, car rides with Don Williams blasting on the radio dancing and singing at the top of their lungs. Carol was so grateful to have Angie and her family in her life.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Angie, Sheila, Randy, Cristen and Aailyah not only for the care and compassion but for welcoming Carol into your family for the last five years. To friends and family for your prayers and messages. The 911 dispatcher, ambulance attendants, ER and Medicine floor doctors and nurses. Dr Dan Ilchyna for many years of care. The funeral service was held on Tuesday July 26, 2022, at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach Manitoba. The burial took place at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery on Highway 12 South.
