ETHEL JOAN SIEMENS
March 2, 1957 - August 6, 2022
On August 6, at Jocelyn House, with her sister by her side, Ethel peacefully slipped into her Lord's waiting arms. She was 65.
Ethel, born in Altona, MB, attended elementary school in Amsterdam, and upon completion of high school in Altona moved to Winnipeg where she landed a job with Manitoba Hydro for 42 years. She retired February 1, 2018.
Her greatest joy was Jasper, her Siberian Husky and faithful companion. Through Jasper's day care at Happy Tails, Ethel established good rapport and friendships with staff there.
Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Frank R. and Annie Siemens and sister, Luella Dueck.
Ethel leaves to mourn her siblings and spouses, Frank (Tina), Renetta, Cecil (Linda), Mel (Karen) and nieces and nephews and their families.
The family is grateful to the dedicated medical and support staff at the Victoria and Grace Hospitals and the Grace Palliative Team for care they provided for Ethel. Very special thanks to the staff at Jocelyn House for providing compassionate care and comfort to Ethel these last few months and to Dr. Kristjanson for his exceptional kindness and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Ethel's life will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to Union Gospel Mission, Winnipeg or OMF International - Canada, 10 Huntingdale Boulevard, Scarborough, ON M1W 2S5 or at https://omf.org/web/ca/giving

I knew Ethel through work at Manitoba Hydro when we were part of Regional Services. She was always the friendly professional. I’m sorry to hear of her passing. - Posted by: Charlene Monds (Work Acquaintance ) on: Sep 11, 2022

Ethel was such a genuine person. She cared about so many people in a way that no one else could compare to. Her love was thoughtful and thorough. She wanted to know everything about you so she could better understand you as a person. Ethel was not judgmental. She would always put herself in their shoes. The kindest soul I've met. I had the honour to witness her bond with Jasper and let me tell you that dog was her everything! There's too many stories for me to share so I'll save them for when me and Ethel meet again... I'm thankful for the time I had with her and I hope she made an inprint on everyone else like she did me xoxo - Posted by: Brooke (Friend) on: Aug 14, 2022
