DAPHNE LOUISE BURNS

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Daphne Louise Burns on August 8, 2022.
Daphne was born at home in Winnipeg on December 6, 1931, to the late Kenneth and Eva Burns. Daphne was predeceased by her parents, her brother Kenneth in 1997, her sister Joyce in 2002 and her sister Carol in 2010.
Daphne enjoyed travel with her sister Carol. They took several trips to Europe including a cruise of the Greek Islands, as well as many holidays in Barbados. Daphne liked to golf and was a member at Breezy Bend Country Club. She was a longtime supporter of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Women's Canadian Club of Winnipeg. Daphne was also a lifelong member of Westminster United Church.
Many thanks to the staff at Charleswood Care Centre, where she spent her last two years.
As per Daphne's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial reception will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday August 21, at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26 at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Daphne's name to the Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1A5.
