VIOLA FLORENCE RANVILLE
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Viola Florence Ranville after a long battle with cancer, on August 28, 2022.
Viola will be sadly missed by her son Wesley (Ellen); daughter Julie; grandchildren, Dakota and Meagan (great-granddaughter Ella); siblings, Lily, John, Marlene, Norman and Leo; and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Viola was predeceased by her loving husband Russell of 51 years of marriage; her mother Bella and father Ernie; siblings, Carl and Delores
Viola was born and raised in Crane River, although her love for her family and home were strong, Vi made her way to Cranberry Portage for school. She moved to Winnipeg where she married Russell in 1970. Vi worked for many places, most notably the Winnipeg Trading Post and the United Way where she worked 15 years before retiring. Viola's unbelievable love and dedication to Julie took most of her time, she loved her Winnipeg Jets, her favourite player Evander Kane, keno and a good square dance.
Our family extends thanks to the staff at Riverview.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.

To Wesley, I worked with your Mom in the early 1970's at the CAMR office on Sherbrook St. for several years. I remember your birth and then Julie. I did not keep in touch with Vi (regretfully). But yesterday I had the privilege of meeting Julie on a Transit Plus trip and learned of her Mom's death. I have wonderful memories of times with your Mom and wanted to send my sympathy to you and your family. - Posted by: Clare Simpson (Former co-worker) on: Feb 01, 2025
