KREUTZER: Myrtle (Pearl) Rosetta (nee Senft). Pearl passed away in the early morning hours of September 20, 2022 at Heritage Personal Care Home in Niverville, MB. She was 98. Born at home, June 5, 1924, near Lipton, Saskatchewan, Pearl grew up on the family farm. She was her dad's "right hand man". She learned how to work hard, milking cows, helping with harvest as well as cooking and cleaning in the home. Pearl was unable to complete her education due to a burst appendix which kept her away from school for several months. Pearl grew into a quiet, determined, and caring woman who was able to care for the farm and her children while her husband was working away from home. Her massive garden supplied us with many creative, nourishing meals. And she always made sure there were flowers; gladiolas, dahlias and geraniums to mention a few. Pearl and Len's romance began when they were young children. Each Sunday Len would bring a peppermint to church and give it to Pearl. On October 17, 1946 they were married. They started their married life in Saskatchewan and in a year or so made the decision to move to Oak Lake. One of the first people they met were the Wallaces. Moving southeast of town and living close by, they became life-long friends with Nelson, Betty, Larry, and Barb. Mom worked side by side with Dad on the farm and made sure we three children got to our various activities whenever we needed a ride. Along with this, she still milked cows, made butter and even ice cream. She was known for her pies and also how she could put together a meal at the last minute. You were always welcome at her home and there would be coffee and dainties to go along with a good visit. Mom dedicated her time to teaching Sunday school and was an active member of the UCW and Legion. She found time to cook and waitress with her good friend Til Helten in the restaurant in Oak Lake. In later years she also went door to door selling Watkins. Pearl cherished her family and she will be missed by her daughter, Darlene (Claude), grandchildren; Claudia (Todd), Dallas (Lynsey), Melanie (Don), Ben (Candace), Ken (Tamara), Michelle (Ryan), Tara (Jordan). Her great-grandchildren were fortunate enough to know her and she loved seeing them; Taya, Forrest, Quinn, Kate, Ryliegh, James, Jesse, McKenzie, Jayce, Jaxon, Sam, Max, Corbin, and Kael. Pearl was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Len, her sons, Keith and Reg and her grandson, Keith Jr. A celebration of life will be held for Pearl at the Oak Lake United Church, Oak Lake, MB on Saturday October 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will follow at the Oak Lake Hall. Donations in her memory may be made to Oak Lake United Church or Griswold United Church. Masks will be available at the church and hall.
