My husband Bert, worked with Doug in The Pas and in Winnipeg. We had many happy times together in The Pas with the telegraph group. Doug and Carolynne came to Bert's funeral in 2013. They were a lovely, interesting and entertaining, couple. Condolences to the family, Delsie Cousineau - Posted by: Delsie (friends from our early years.) on: Oct 13, 2022

I have only known Doug for a short time but we became close friends off the bat. We both hand electric scooters and spent the days touring Transcona. There was not many days we did not travel together even in the winter. Doug lived his life to the fullest despite his health issues. I will miss him extremely and wish him now with his wife. RIP MY SCOOTER BUDDY. - Posted by: Barrie Cooke (Friend) on: Oct 08, 2022

Our most sincere condolences go out to Christine, Deanna, Darrel and Stuart and their families. We have so many wonderful memories of happy times spent with the Smith family. They range from special family celebrations, neighborhood parties at their home, Doug taking not only his kids but the neighbours’ kids too shopping, ballroom dancing and lunch group. Doug was a special, independent guy and, despite his amputations, never missed a lunch with us. He made sure he got there on his motorized scooter. We last saw him at our lunch a couple of months ago and he was his cheerful self. He will be missed. - Posted by: Doug and Elinore Loos (Friend and neighbours ) on: Oct 08, 2022
