NATALIE (NETTIE) SUGGETT
(nee HLYNSKI)

October 1, 1931 - October 8, 2022

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Nettie Suggett on October 8, 2022 at Gimli Hospital. Nettie faced mobility and health challenges in her later years, including breast cancer, but maintained a positive outlook throughout. She will be deeply missed by her loving children, Jim (Cathy), Glen (Janet Moore), Carolyn (Peter Marinelli), and Keith. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Colin, Clare, Andrew, Justin (Kailey Sprague), Jessica and Brayden.
Nettie was predeceased by her husband Stanley Suggett (2007) and her siblings, Michael Hlynski, Anne Dusyk and John Hlynski.
Nettie was a warm, kindhearted and loving person who always made everyone feel welcome. Whether it was Sunday dinners, family birthdays or holidays, it was important to gather us all together to celebrate these occasions with delicious home cooked meals and desserts. She always took an interest in family activities, whether it was work, school or recreation. With a sharp mind and strong memory, Nettie was our go-to source of information. With a twinkle in her eye, she gave unconditional love and leaves us with countless memories.
Our family is grateful for the care Keith provided as Mom resided at his Lakehouse in Sandy Hook for the past two years, where she enjoyed watching the birds and deer that frequented the yard. She called it her paradise.
At Nettie's request, no formal service will be held. A private celebration of life will occur at a later date.
Donations in memory of Nettie may be made to the charity of your choice.

  • We were so sorry to hear of Aunt Nettie's passing. She was always kind, welcoming, and had a wonderful sense of humour. I have fond memories of summer visits to the cottage with games, great food, and lots of laughter. Our sincere condolences to the family. Love, Marlene and Michael. - Posted by: Marlene Cochrane (Niece) on: Oct 16, 2022
