My memories of Shirley go back to the '70's when I was a skater. Later, back involved with my own kids she and Ted remembered me and recruited me to become an official. Absolutely loved going to a competition where they were both working at. So much fun, never flustered, rolled with whatever was going on. Loved Shirley's cheerful ways and kindness. So very sorry Ted... take care. - Posted by: Shelley Esplin Meakin (Skating colleague. ) on: Oct 22, 2022

I always enjoyed hearing of the Jones adventures to Devils Lake! Thanks also for how you were so kind and helpful getting my parents where they needed to go. Always loved Shirley’s unhurried drawl and her welcome “and how are you doing dear?”. You all have been part of my life it will be hard not to keep referring to you as “Ted & Shirley”. I’m so sorry you lost your life partner, mom and grandma. Love to you all… - Posted by: Heather Friesen (Cousin) on: Oct 19, 2022

Sincere sympathy to Ted, Joy and all the families. We met Shirley and Ted as they were patrons at Fidler’s Esso. Both were very freindly and genuinely interested and involved in their skating obligations. Shirley was very proud of her family and she will be missed. Sympathies to Ted, Joy and families. Got to know Shirley over the counter at Fidler’s Esso. She and Ted were a very nice and friendly couple. She seemed to be very interested in young people and was especially proud of her grandsons. Once again our sympathy to your entire family. My sincere condolences to you Ted and to Joy and Gay Lynne and the rest of your family. You and Shirley were such a great team. Watching you both navigate your busy lives together, always having time for one another, your families and time for service in the community was a great example to learn from. I will fondly remember Shirley for her genuine hugs, her laughter and her never rushed demeanour. She was my young girls biggest supporter in the arena and always found a way to watch even when she was busy behind the scenes or driving through a snow storm to get to their events. I’m sending so much love your way Ted. ❤️ - Posted by: Shelley Hewins Brown (Skating family) on: Oct 18, 2022
