It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Verna Domanski, on November 25, 2022, in Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, at the age of 84 years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Walter; her daughter Allyson (Gary Kohlruss) and her son Mark (Andrea) Domanski; grandchildren Mirissa Kohlruss (Laura Dang) and Gabriel Kohlruss, Cole and Reese Domanski; sister Marianne (Walter, d.) Purcha; sister-in-law Sally Kotelo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Verna was predeceased by her parents Anne (Teres) and Nick Kotelo, siblings Audrey (Robert) Carr, George and Laurie (Marg) Kotelo.
Verna grew up in Garson, MB, and married Walter, the boy next door. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy and enjoyed a career in administration at St. Boniface Hospital until retirement at age 57. They raised their family in Winnipeg and cottaged at Otter Falls.
Verna participated in many volunteer activities and on boards of directors throughout retirement, namely the Whiteshell Cottagers' Association, Catholic Women's League, and the Whiteshell Chapel.
Verna was all about family. She was a great cook and loved entertaining and turned that passion into perogy-making and catering funeral luncheons at St. Alphonsus Church. Verna and Walter travelled the world extensively.
Funeral liturgy will be held at St. Alphonsus Church, 315 Munroe Avenue, Winnipeg, at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 12, 2022. A private family prayer service will be held the evening prior.

Sad to hear of the passing of my childhood friend, Verna Kotelo Domanski. We grew up together in Garson, Mb. I was a frequent visitor to the Kotelo home. Both George & Verna had been in my thoughts for several weeks now......I was sorry to learn of Verna's illness and subsequent passing. Rest in Peace, my old friend. - Posted by: Laurel Faryon Piragoff (Friend) on: Dec 24, 2022

I met Verna when I was a student nurse at St. Boniface Hospital and she worked with my Auntie Mabel (Aldwinckle) and Gerry Mestdagh in the cardiology department. Those three ladies had so much fun together and were such good friends. My aunt always appreciated that Verna kept in touch with her by phone after she retired. I always remember Verna talking with such love and pride about her husband Walter and her children Allyson and Mark. My condolences to the Domanski family. - Posted by: Eleanore Verplaetse (Niece of a Friend) on: Dec 04, 2022
