HARISH CHANDER SUD
We said goodbye to our beloved Harish Chander Sud on November 5, 2022 in Winnipeg.
Harish was predeceased by his parents, Amarnath and Parsinni Devi; siblings, Prem Chand and Pushpa Vati; and his beloved son Arun. He is survived by his wife Devi; children, Anil and Gita (Rob and Anokhi) and other relatives around the world.
Born on December 27, 1931, Harish's life traversed physical and cultural distances he could not have imagined in advance. His early years were shaped by India's Partition. His adult years were spent teaching and building a robust life in small communities in India (Moga) and Manitoba, including Churchill and Ethelbert, until he retired in Winnipeg. He persevered through moments of hardship grounded by a belief in hard work, dedication to his family and community and a commitment to a simple, healthy lifestyle.
Harish was clear-eyed about the rapid spread of his cancer and was unafraid to leave this life and move to the next. His family is grateful to all the friends, caregivers, volunteers and medical staff who compassionately cared for him throughout his illness.
Harish's funeral will be on December 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg. For those who are unable to attend, a livestream link will be available on the Thomson website below. Shanti Path will be on December 10, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the Hindu Temple, 999 St. Anne's Rd., Winnipeg.

Mr Sud was my teacher in Ethelbert. When he and his family moved to Ethelbert they truly embraced Ethelbert as their home and were involved in many clubs and made a huge impact. He will be missed. Condolences to the family - Posted by: Gail Dohan (Friend of the family ) on: Dec 03, 2022
