PATRICK CAMPBELL GYLES
August 20, 1930 – November 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Patrick Campbell Gyles.
Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg, where he met and married the love of his life, Sylvia.
A kind, loving, and very generous man, Dad loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends, and loved to tell stories, make people laugh, and prank whenever the opportunity arose.
Mom and Dad loved to travel and visited many places around the world. Of course, Dad's favourite passion was duck and grouse hunting with family and friends, and an excellent shot he was!
Patrick was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Sylvia, his father Richard W. Gyles, mother Jean Adelaide Gyles (nee Woodman), brother Richard Francis Gyles, and sister Sheila (Love).
Dad is survived by son Randy (wife Debbie); grandchildren, Regan, Sydney (husband Kevin), great-grandchildren, Nash and Bohdi; son Gerry, grandchildren, Patrick and Emma; son Derrick (wife Melanie), grandchildren Jessie and Aaron; daughter Gina (husband Brian), granddaughter Kiera; brother Doug (wife Elsie) and many nieces and nephews.
Very special thanks to Angela, Shelley, and the wonderful staff on Three East at Deer Lodge Centre. Also, very special thanks to Mona and Eirik at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deer Lodge Centre Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

You will be missed Dad (Grandpa).
We love you always.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Pat Gyles was a good friend of my father. When I was young our families snowmobiled down the Assiniboine River. We also attended drag racing and the snowmobile races in Gimli. Derick Pat's son must have picked up on drum playing early Pat giving Derick a red Ludwig drum when Derick was six. My father gave Pat some bongos; which Pat could play and entertain. I remember our families enjoying Grand Beach together. Pat could really swim fast. Pat was witty entertaining and showed us how to rip a telephone book in half. He was a hunting friend of dad's and will be dearly missed by my father Phil. Pat was Irish Welsh and Scottish; boxed as a youth in the boy scouts. We often spent time at his brothers hunting cabin at Lake Winnipeg. Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His keeping his sense of humour even through the difficult and fun times we had with uncle Pat. - Posted by: christopher vardalos (peer) on: Jan 09, 2023

  • To The Gyles Family. We are sorry to hear of your Dear Dad's passing. He was such a handsome man and "man!" what an entertainer! I could just imagine what our parties would have been like if he decided to come. He'd be the last man standing....with mike in hand. Too funny! Yes he will be missed by many and now you will find your ways again to tend to your own lives. Getting old is not for sissies! It has been great that our families have stayed connected over the years and much appreciated. We wish you the best and our love from the entire McWhinney Family. • Dear Randy & Debbie, Gerry, Derrick & Melanie, Gina & Brian and families - We are so sorry for your loss. We have so many wonderful memories of your Dad (and Mom) and he holds a huge place in our hearts. He taught the kids some wonderful pranks like how to successfully cover the toilet bowl with Saran Wrap and get away undetected. May all the wonderful memories you have of your Dad/Grandpa, bring you comfort at this time. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Love Uncle Jerry & Auntie Arlene and family. - Posted by: Shannon Thompson (Niece) on: Dec 17, 2022
