BRIAN ACLAND
December 26, 1939 December 8, 2022
Our family sadly announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Brian Acland.
He was predeceased by his parents, Iris and Noel and his brother David. Brian is survived by Kerry, his loving wife of over 60 years and teenage sweetheart; his children, Andrew (Terry) and Susan (Vern); his grandchildren, David and Ryan; his brother Paul and sister-in-law Carol; nephews, Brian (Cas), Jeff (Karla) and nieces, Kelly (Lee) and Erin.
Brian was the eldest of three boys and loved his brothers dearly. Family meant the world to him and he loved his many pets, especially his dog Willow.
Brian had a successful career with the TD Bank as Branch Manager in Saskatoon and Winnipeg. He was also a Manager for Ames Diagnostics, Western Canada.
Brian and Kerry were fortunate to have travelled to many parts of the world: England, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Hawaii and Mexico. They also enjoyed several Caribbean cruises. Brian's favourite times were summers at the family cottage at Victoria Beach surrounded by family and close friends.
Brian was remarkable to have lived with Type 1 diabetes for more than 57 years. Diabetes did not control him; he controlled it.
Thank you for setting an example of hard work, honesty, courage and high ideals. You will always be remembered and missed.
A private burial will be held in the summer at Victoria Beach.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or The Humane Society.

To Kerry and family, So sad to see this happen. I have many nice memories about the Acland family, Playing football with Paul and his brothers on Waterford, the 45th Argyle where Brian and David were Queen scouts, Brian going duck hunting with my Dad, Brian helping my mom with Investment advise. Brian had a great life and we know he’ll be missed. Chris and Donna Woods Chris Woods - Posted by: Chris and Donna Woods (Friend of Paul) on: Dec 23, 2022

My deepest sympathy on your loss Kerry. It’s been many years since we’ve seen you but the Aclands and Allery’s were long time old friends. RIP Brian. - Posted by: Susan Heim (Family friend) on: Dec 17, 2022

To Paul, Kerry and your families; I extend my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your brother and husband. You might remember me from our days at VACI in the late 1950's and hanging out at Sandy Hook with your late brother David and the "old" gang. Yes...it was remarkable about how Brian controlled Type l diabetes and was able to live a full life. I shall be making a donation to Diabetes Canada. May Brian rest in peace.
