MARIA CERASANI

Mom (Nonna) was born in 1931 in a small town of San Benedetto Dei Marsi, Abruzzo. Growing up during the Second World War was difficult and she immigrated to Canada as a young woman of 23 years to join her husband Alfio, who had immigrated a couple of years earlier.
They were married for 65 years and together they worked hard to make Winnipeg their new home where they raised a family and were blessed with five grandchildren.
Mom enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and gardening. She always made sure we never left the table hungry. First question when she saw you was, "Did you eat?"
Nonna struggled with health issues recently that limited her ability to do many of the things she used to enjoy but she was always loving and caring with her family.
She will be sadly missed by daughter Vincenza (Bruce) (Nigel, Sergio (Jasmine), Francesca), and son Carlo (Marlene) (Larissa, Carter). She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Valentina, Concetta, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by Alfio, her sister Italia and brothers, Vincenzo and Tonino.
Thank you for the compassionate care at the Victoria General Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

Riposo in pace bella Mamma, Nonna.
