ROBERT (TERRY) MOORE
October 6, 1942 - December 23, 2022

With deep sadness, we announce that Terry passed away suddenly at the Grace Hospital at the age of 80.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Val, of 34 years, his two daughters, Lori and Jennifer, six grandchildren, Chris (Kirsten), Lindsay (Leah), Brandon, Kelsey (Grant), Alexa and Graeson, four great- grandboys, Levi, Otis, Hayes and Kit. All whom he loved and cherished so much.
Terry is also survived by Val's sisters and brothers-in-law, Bev (Denny), Linda (Bill), Shirley (Rick) and Heather. Also, his stepmom (Ruby) Moore and half brothers and sister, Ken (Lorna), Ron, Don (Shirley), Glen, Karen and Tim. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins that were so special to him.
He was predeceased by his mom Margaret Plouffe, his dad Rueben Moore, grandparents, Bertha and Bon Plouffe, mother and father-in-law Joyce and Frank Parsonage, brother-in-law Art Thiessen and many special aunts and uncles.
Terry was born on October 6, 1942 in Fort Garry and that is where he lived his entire life. He worked for Manitoba Hydro for 35 years, retiring in 1997.
Terry was a very talented athlete, loved all sports, but his passion was baseball and hockey in his younger years. Played in the 1969 Summer Games and one highlight for Terry was signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Cardinals in the same year. He was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame, as a team member for the Transcona Atomics in 2001 and as a player in 2002.
Later years it was curling and golf. He played at the Pembina Curling Club and won many championships and became a member at the Carman Golf Club after his retirement.
He belonged to the Fort Garry Legion for 45 years, volunteering his time and served as the Entertainment Chair for a few years and always had activities going on and also enjoyed a beer or two!!
For being known as a tough guy, he was a real softie when it came to our dog, Punkie, who he loved and enjoyed for 19 years.
Terry and Val enjoyed many memorable trips to Hawaii, Cuba, Arizona, Florida, Texas and California and so many fun trips to Ontario visiting and enjoying his girls and grandchildren. Also, loved travelling in our motorhome and always seemed to know where all the casinos were to stop along the way. Loved trips to Grand Forks, Fargo and the Shooting Star Casino.
Terry, you were one of a kind and will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with a private family interment held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Manitoba Underdogs Rescue.
