LORRAINE PETERSON
(LANNOO)

September 3, 1946 - December 21, 2022

I have had a "good life", I have been fortunate to have learned so much throughout my life from family, friends, and co-workers. I have decided to do this because being acknowledged once I have passed means nothing to me; I want to acknowledge the people who have most impacted my life.
To my loving husband of 57 years, Victor, you have been a loyal devoted husband throughout the years. You were always very supportive of all my crazy decorating or project requests, never questioning me and helping to bring my ideas to reality. I thank you for everything, and love you with all my heart.
To my brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Sharon, Albert and Betty, my dearest younger brother Don and Ann, Carl and Iris, and Brian and Penny. We have overcome all the good and bad times in our lives, all of which helped each of us to become the strong determined people we are today. I cherish all the memories of our times together and couldn't ask for anything more. Love you all very much.
To my niece Kim "my angel", I appreciate everything that you have done for me and Uncle Vic. After asking you to help us during this overwhelming time, you stepped in dealing with the difficult days to come. Love you dearly, and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done.
To my nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, I thank you for all the great memories. I think back to all the fun times at the lake, the backyard wiener roasts, marshmallow toasting, and rock and roll nights. I very much appreciated all your help with projects, the phone calls, texts and show of support. Spending time with each and everyone of you has been wonderful. I love and thank you all for time spent together, and wish the very best for you.
To my cousins, Kathy and Murray, I always enjoyed our breakfast trips to Gimli and cabin visits. Ken and Gail, you are both so very special to me and I appreciate everything you have done. Gerry, Tink and Diel thanks for all the great memories living next door, babysitting, and family Christmas dinners, love you all.
Cathy, the last remaining amigo. I appreciate your friendship and support. Always great times with lots of laughs eating junk food on the deck at the cabin. Thanks for everything, Vickie and I will be decorating.
Sandra, I really appreciated the fries and coffee visits, and all your help with decorating projects. Thanks for everything you have done.
To all my previous co-workers that have checked in on me, I have been so lucky to have had the chance to work and get to know you. Thanks for all the fun times, appreciate you all.
To the cabin crew (you know who you are). Lots of fun times and great memories with you all, that is when I wasn't cruising yard sales. Great times especially Christmas' in July…my favorite!
To all mentioned I have loved and enjoyed you all! I'm sorry to say goodbye, but (I've had) The Time of my Life, it's the 'End of the Line'…bye love you.
Lorraine quietly passed away in her sleep with her loving husband, by her side at Riverview Health Centre.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors for their exceptional care, as well a special thank you to the Palliative Care team for their compassion and support for Lorraine.
She will be greatly missed but always loved and remembered fondly.

Love and miss you forever.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Lorraine’s passion of decorating and planning events/projects will be missed. She was truly “one of a kind!” Whenever out and about shopping, she was always thinking of others and looking for that perfect “piece” to finish off a project! She had a “vision” for our home and still to this day we are reminded of her! Her love of everything Christmas was on full display as she, along with help from Vic, transformed their home each and every Xmas season. Feel very blessed to have worked with Lorraine and experienced the impact she had on so, so many lives. We offer our family’s sincerest condolences to Vic and her beloved family/friends. • Lorraine was a loving, beautiful soul. She always had a kind word and never hesitated to lend a helping hand, both at work and outside. I enjoyed twenty years working with Lorraine and I also enjoyed running into her on occasion at Walmart or Michaels. Vic, I am so sorry for you for the loss of your soulmate and the love of your life. She will be missed by so many. 😢🙏❤️ - Posted by: Irene O’Dell (Friend and Co-worked) on: Jan 03, 2023

  • Vic, your sorrow is felt by all. Lorraine was loved by so many, she had a heart of gold, would always give you a helping hand. Worked with Lorraine for over 30 years, once you became friends it was for life. Lorraine you'll always have a special place in our hearts, what a joy it is knowing someone as special as you in our lives. Rest in peace my dear friend. - Posted by: Jim and Donna Ervick (Friend) on: Jan 02, 2023

  • My sincere condolences to all of Lorraine’s family. I remember “Metcha” as The Dusessoy’s called her very well. Her dinner gatherings were full of family, love, fun and entertaining. I love the way she decorated O’diel’s condo, she had the knack to find everything matching. I enjoyed HER words above. RIP Tracy MacLean - Posted by: Tracy MacLean (Acquaintance ) on: Jan 01, 2023
