SHIRLEY CHOY KING CHAN
March 17, 1938 – December 20, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Shirley Choy King Chan. Shirley passed away peacefully at the age of 84.
Left to mourn are her spouse, Gordon Yue Song Chan; children, Ronald (Jeannie), Lana (Bruce), Valerie (Benny), Shanna (Brent) and grandchildren, Alexander, Evan, Daniel, Marley, Cade and Laine.
Shirley was predeceased by her brothers, Wai Sang and Hap Sang. Siblings left to mourn, sister Tsui Chun (Sun Woon) and sisters-in-law, Yue Harp and Yee Chong.
Born in Taishan, Guangdong China, Shirley immigrated to Canada where she married Gordon in 1958. Shirley enjoyed ballroom dancing, sewing, jewellery designing, gardening and travelling.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Oakview/Extendicare Place for their compassion and care of Shirley in her final years.
Viewing will be held on January 5, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow on January 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Live stream link for the service will be available on the Thomson Funeral Home website. Interment will follow at noon at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame.
